McInnes Wilson Lawyers is a full-service national law firm that began in Brisbane. The firm says Peter McInnes established McInnes & Co in 1975 as an insurance and property law firm. It then became McInnes Wilson after John Wilson joined as a partner in about 1978. In 2009, it incorporated as McInnes Wilson Lawyers Pty Ltd. Fees, team and rankings

On fees, the firm’s claimant brand MCW Legal offers no-win no-fee legal advice for accident victims. It states that it averages fees of 30% of a client’s total payout, compared with the legal maximum of 50%. It also states that it will never charge clients an uplift fee. However, it does not publish disbursement terms.

The compensation page names a team including principals Verity Smith, Emily Billiau, Terry McCormick and Salvatore Alvaro. The Queensland Law Society register lists Terry McCormick as Terence Robert McCormick. He is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injuries Law. The QLS register also shows 134 solicitors at the firm’s Brisbane office. In addition, Doyle’s Guide lists McInnes Wilson as ‘Leading’ among Queensland plaintiff law firms in 2025 and 2026. This covers motor vehicle accident and public liability compensation. It also lists the firm as ‘Recommended’ for medical negligence compensation in both years.
